What is the design of Master & Dynamic MW65?

Master & Dynamic MW65

The Master & Dynamic MW65 is one of the best headphones available in the market. It feels great while using. The ear pads and headband come with a comfortable lambskin leather wrap featured by anodized aluminum pieces. The mess type plate on the front of the earcups give a open-back look, but it looks fancy. From a handful of accessories to headphones, everything about Master and Dynamic MW65 is in the class.

The MW65 come with a mixed-material pouch with zipper pocket and magnetic clasp. However, it is not the most defensive case but the work gets done. Although the ear cushions are replaceable, Master & Dynamic does not offer the same spare pairing as the Creative with its SXFI Air headphones.

Moreover, the headphone come with a Google Assistant Integration. As a result, if you press and hold the volume up button, Google Assistant reads unopened notifications aloud. You can control which notifications are read back and which are ignored via the Google app. However, it does not come with any type of IP rating, which is little disappointing a bit.

How touch control works of Master & Dynamic MW65?

On-board controls are very simple and reliable. The left ear cup houses the noise cancelling button for cycling through the high, low, and off settings. It also has a power slider which initiates Bluetooth pairing mode, too. On the other hand, the right earcups include a Volume up/down button. Moreover, there is a small hole in the left earcups for 3.5mm to 3.5mm Audio Cable.

What is the sound quality of Master & Dynamic MW65?

In terms of sound quality, the Master & Dynamic MW65 come with a 40mm Beryllium driver for signature rich and warm sound quality experience. Moreover, MW65 headphones are best for almost all genres of music because of the minimal deviation from the ideal frequency response (0-mark). This not only minimizes auditory masking, which allows for optimal clarity, but also means that it hints well for all genres of music.

Furthermore, if you have an Android phone, aptX support improves audio quality, but iPhone users won’t reap the same benefit as AAC isn’t supported. In addition, the 3-4.5kHz to Deep is a feature of the headset. The human ear is particularly sensitive to echoes within this range. By targeting these frequencies, the music sounds clearer. Coincidentally, this is often found in Sennheiser headphones.

Can you use Master & Dynamic MW65 for phone calls?

The Master & Dynamic MW65 come with a dual-microphone for filter out external voice. It does a good job at filtering out background noise, but that’s where the positives trail off. Voices of all registers sound distant and muffled. Additionally, there has been a Passive audio available when wireless disabled, via a 3.5mm cable. It can reduce a considerable amount of background noise.

Does Master & Dynamic MW65 have good Noise cancellation capabilities?

The Master & Dynamic MW65 eliminates noise really well but not enough to outperform Sony or AKG. Master & Dynamic has taken the time to create wireless headphones with Active Noise-Cancelling technology that doesn’t compromise the signature sound quality you’ve come to expect. The headphone come with two mode of noise cancellation 1) High Power Mode: For City streets, airplanes, and very noisy environments. 2) Low Power Mode: For Lower noise or windy environments. Furthermore, if you disabled noise cancellation ultimately you activate passive noise isolation.

How good is the connectivity option?

The headphone come with a Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity. Which is a bit of a stretch. Users want the latest version of Bluetooth at this high price. You’ll be offered 20-meter connectivity range and aptX support. This high-quality codec improves audio quality and reduces lag on Android devices. Plus, you can connect up to two devices together for easy source switching so that’s not all bad news.

Furthermore, if the battery dies and you are unable to take advantage of the fast charging capability, just use the Ax cable for wired audio. Of course, this means that your phone needs a headphone jack because the dongle adapter is not included. The MW65, however, comes with a flight adapter, which adds a nice touch of antique charm.

How long does the battery last?

Master & Dynamic MW65

With the noise cancelling set to high, the battery lasted for 20 hours, 41 minutes. This is especially excellent considering the fast charging capabilities. Connecting via the included USB-C cable for 15 minutes, the headphones afford 12 hours of playback. This is invaluable if you’re at the airport and forgot to pre-flight charge your headphones. It takes about two hours to fully charge, which is to be expected.

With excellent warranty, high-quality materials and useful features, MW65 is a good choice for buying. The Master & Dynamic MW65 bundles all this into one elegant package, however, it is incredibly expensive. This exclusive product targets people who can afford extravagant expenses. If you fall into that trap or find them on sale, they are definitely worth it. However, if you want a more affordable headset with better ANC and mic quality, get the Sony WH-XB910N or the new Sony WH-1000XM4.
