What is the design of Onanoff FOKUS Headphone?

Onanoff FOKUS

Onanoff FOKUS headphone come with extremely light weight design for longer use. The adjustable metal frame headband cover with a soft fabric like material to feel very comfortable. Despite their lightweight construction, the frame and the size adjustment are made of metal. Which gives the Fokus stability and a degree of robustness. Also, the headband size adjustment does not seem to be all that suitable for larger head shapes, which makes the Fokus more suitable for small to medium-sized adult heads and an option for schoolchildren or teenagers.

However, Onanoff has done well with cushions and clamping pressure. In addition, there is a good amount of cushioning on the headband which makes the headphones comfortable to wear. The ear cups are covered with a soft velvet, which means my ears don’t get warm during prolonged listening sessions. The gap between the earcups and your ear is minimum to offer a certain amount of passive noise isolation.

At first glance, it is known that the headphones have built with premium quality. The headphone has very much similar shape to the Harman kardon FLY ANC. However, including the Onanoff logo on each ear cup, giving it a nice premium experience. The ear cups have the right depth, but the inside surface touches the top of my ear even slightly. However, it was not much of a problem.

Furthermore, Onanoff FOKUS headphone missing the IP ratings for dust and water resistance. Which means you can’t use this headphone with raining outside or during swimming. The headphone fold flat and collapses for comfortable travel and storage in carrying case. According to the manufacturer, the ear pads can be clean in the washing machine at 30°C and are easy to install and remove, a very practical feature.

How do you control Onanoff FOKUS Headphone?

Onanoff FOKUS headphone does not offer a much onboard touch control. The Onanoff Fokus is equip with a 1-button remote, located on the right earcup. When the single press controls playback and is used to answer and terminate the call, the double press moves to the next track, and the triple press goes back. Short press and hold enable Siri on iOS devices. Although, there is no volume control, so this must be done either by voice control or on the device. In addition, a separate slide switch above the remote button is use to switch between the two available sound modes of Focus.

How does Onanoff FOKUS Headphone sound?

Onanoff FOKUS

The manufacturer of Onanoff is announcing the basic sound of the Focus, called “music mode”, which has a powerful bass response, and this is certainly the case. The full, rounded bass foundation has energy and surprisingly reaches the very bottom, and the lower bass feels quite juicy and wide. However, the lower range looks a bit spongy and muffled, which can be a bit of a fun factor when listening to hip-hop, electro and the like.

Moreover, the headphone offers a two listening mode: Fokus mode and Music mode. The Fokus mode significant drop in the lower and mid-bass range, which increases the clarity of the presentation. At the same time, the voice reproduction gains space, which is centrally in the foreground and, when in direct comparison, still seems warm but a little brighter. In any case, the tuning makes it easy to concentrate on spoken content and to follow it with little fatigue, even over long periods. Podcasts, audiobooks and films benefit from a lively and fresh sound. If you don’t like the bass strength of the basic sound, you can, of course, use the Focus mode when listening to music.

On the other hand, the music mode scores point with a convincing, comprehensible reproduction of voices that sound full-bodied with a pleasant warmth. Sibilant sounds do not cause any problems, even at higher volume levels, which the Fokus is quite capable of, as they are reproduce very softly. The Fokus are also not prone to harshness or peaks in the upper registers, which are gentle but do not fall off, resulting in an open sound impression.

Can you use Onanoff FOKUS Headphone for phone calls?

The Onanoff FOKUS headphones come with an integrated microphone that provides the ability to perceive good speech in a quiet environment. However, since outside noise is not actively filtered, a person’s own voice may be affected by street noise or background noise. The person on the other end of the call is well understand and is reproduce with a mark presence. Which makes the conversation situation seem straightforward but not awkward.
