What is the design of the Master and dynamic MW08?

Master and dynamic MW08

The design and shape of the earbud is very much similar to its upgraded version the Master and dynamic MW08 Sport. The premium quality MW08 earbud come with a light weight design and fantastic colour combination. As we discuss above, there are three different charging cases available for each earbud such as Polished Graphite Case, Matte Black Case and Stainless-Steel Case. The charging case I can use has a stainless-steel finish, which is quite sturdy and reliably fit into your pocket. The front side of the case has indicated small flash light to give a battery percentage status. And on the right side there is USB Type-C charging port for fast charging.

Talking about the earbud, the ceramic finish earbud offers a lightweight scratch-resistant finish for each in-ear noise-cancelling wireless earbud. In addition, the earbuds feature a 5 different size silicone ear tips rubber and additional 2 sizes of memory foam ear tips rubber. You need to select a perfectly fit tips rubber for your ear for better passive noise isolation. This isolation offers a clear sound during the voice calls.

Furthermore, Master & Dynamic MW08 ensures that, with an IPX5 rating, you can comfortably workout with the MW08 and kick up a sweat. While I miss the rubber wings from previous models for the secure fit, and the MW08 is a little heavy over a long session, they’re totally fine for the gym. The Awareness function in the ANC also means you can sense your surroundings, should you take your exercise outdoors.

How do you control playback?

The touch controls are very simple and reliable to use. The left button indicated volume controls and holding both will toggle ANC. On the other hand, the right earbuds include one button for controlling playback and voice assistant access. The buttons feel firm—neither too clicky, nor too mushy—which lends reassuring tactile feedback. Each earphone has a white light that flashes during Bluetooth pairing.

Should you get the Master & Dynamic app?

You can name your M&D earphones as pets. The app also lets you change your ANC settings. Holding the volume button is the only way to turn it on, but in the app, you can choose between Max ANC and all-day ANC settings. The former is self-explanatory, and the latter is like a medium-high setting. There are also options for ambient sound mode, with voice presets and awareness for tuning in close conversation, which is similar to Safety Mode if you are running outside. These settings are the main reason for getting the app.

In addition to the ANC, the app has an auto-off timer to save battery, and you can choose whether you want to enable ear probe. This allows you to remove earbuds and pause. Ear checks work very well. And use for firmware updates. However, the MW08 Sports suppose to take about 20 minutes to firmware upgrade. Once everything is up to date, the app has a nice technical illustration of your MW08, and tapping the cog icon is where all functions can be customized.

How is the Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport Microphone?

The Master & Dynamic MW08 has three microphones in each earbud. While rejecting external and axial noise, mics do a very good job of reproducing and isolating sounds. This mic is definitely one of the special features of MW08 earbuds. It can make some sounds very loud, but it is usually a clear sound. People with louder voices suffer from a slightly “muffled” sound with these earbuds. Mid-range and deep voice can feel somewhat “crowded” at worst, as there are high-end cuts visible on the mic.
