OPPO Enco Buds2: Design

OPPO Enco Buds2

Speaking of design, the Enco Buds2 is quite lightweight and offer a rounded charging case with a matte finish surface that doesn’t attract fingerprint. Also, it is smooth in touch. It is compact and small, So, it doesn’t fall out of your hands easily. That’s really great I guess. The USB type -C charging slot sits on the bottom of the case. Plus, if you look closely, there is a small indicator sits next to USB Type-C slot. There is a bar running along the side that has a glossy finish. This looks attractive, sadly, it is prone to fingerprints and scratches.

Looking for earbuds, if you look closely, you see the stem has a plastic finish, while the top portion of the earbuds offer a glossy finish which is prone to fingerprints and scratches. It has an in-ear design and also comes with medium-sized ear tips pre-installed. You can change the bundle to larger or smaller sized ear tips if you wish.

The earbuds offer a finest build quality for the price and gives perfect fitting, so, that they don’t fall out from your ear easily during workouts, running of jumping. In addition, the earbuds also come with an IPX4 ratings for water resistance. Which easily out a stop to splash, rain, and sweat in everyday use outline. The company reduce the rating, just because the predecessor includes IP54 ratings for dust resistance as well.

Silicone ear tips are a tight seal with your ears. Gives perfect passive noise isolation. This blocks external noise well, ensures comfortable wear and hearing. The passive noise cancellation experience feels amazing.

OPPO Enco Buds2: Touch controls

They provide a simple and most sensitive touch area. Simply touch your earbud to answer calls, change tracks, adjust the volume, and more, without needing to open your phone.

If you use the predecessor, then you notice the touch controls are pretty similar. However, the earbuds lack the Smart wear detection, thus it can’t naturally pause the music when taken out and resume when you put back. But that doesn’t bother me. Because, I realize that that is rarely present in a headset in the price range.

Does OPPO offers smart app for OPPO Enco Buds2?

The answer to this question is yes. The OPPO feature a Hey Melody app to customize the controls on Android or iOS. You need to download this app to get more advanced and personal experience. Once you do this, you will be able to control the amount of noise around you. You feel comfortable because there are twenty different levels for everything around you. From maximum volume cancellation to microphone use. Or you can always keep the adaptive sound control on and let the headphones change on the fly depending on your surroundings.

Additionally, you can use this app for Personalized Touch Settings, Earbuds Control Guidance, Battery Check, Enco Live Sound Effects, and Game Mode Settings. With this, you can also update the Android compatibility with the app.

OPPO Enco Buds2: Sound Quality

Speaking of sound, the OPPO Enco Bud2 equipped with a 10mm dynamic Titanized driver. With that, the earbud delivered a powerful, clean, deep and rhythmic bass. Which comparatively increase the sound quality and give clear balance sound. The bass quality looks premium, however, the mids and highs are just average. But, the overall sound quality is great compare to predecessor. Sound from the earbuds are loud, so even a 60% volume should be fine, but this depends on the audio you are listening.

The specially designed sound chambers merge with the powerful high flux magnet circuit. Which makes the bass deeper, punchier, and more elastic. The Enco Buds2 come with a Live Stereo Sound Effects, featuring three types of effects. Such as, Original sound, Bass Boost and Clear Vocals. The Original sound mostly gives a natural and real sound experience.

On the contrary, the Bass Boost, as its name suggests, amplifies bass performance to maximize those hard-hitting beats. For those who want to hear the ultra-clean vocals of each performer. The Clear Vocals would be the perfect. I prefer Clear Vocals for podcasts and switch between Original Sound and Bass Boost depending on the music genre. It also makes use of Dolby Atmos, if it’s present in the phone.

The low-latency gaming mode is useful when gaming since it reduces the latency to 94ms, but the cheaper Buds Air2 has 80ms low latency. They have a vibration area 89% larger than that of typical 9 mm diaphragm drivers. You can customize controls to launch the gaming mode. You get a notification when you enter and exit the mode.

How Good is the Active noise cancellation feature?

OPPO Enco Bud2 come with an AI deep noise cancellation for clear voice calls. Active noise-cancelling happens when a machine detects the noise it needs to cancel, then generates its own noise that is out of phase with the background noise. The two sound waves effectively cancel each other out, both becoming inaudible.

The Voice clarity was good for calls indoors, but it doesn’t cut out wind noise or traffic noise when you use if for calls outdoors, but it is better than the older Enco Buds. Overall, these have good audio quality and average call quality for the price.

OPPO Enco Bud2: Battery Life

OPPO Enco Buds2

The Enco buds2 offers a Large 40mAh battery capacity that promise about 7 hours of sustaining battery life. However, in my testing, I found over 6 hours of battery life. If you make a lot of calls, then the battery life will be less. Just 10 minutes charge give you 1 hours of playtime. Which is pretty awesome. If the earbuds are not connected to a phone for more than 5 minutes, it enters the power saving mode.

The 460mAh charging case promise up to 28 hours of battery life. . I got over 3 additional charges. It takes over to 3 hours to charge the case fully with the earbuds over USB Type-C. Even though the case doesn’t pair with the phone, you can see the charge left in the case in the app when you place at least one ear buds in the case.

OPPO Enco Bud2: Connectivity

The earbuds come with a Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connection. Which give faster and more stable Bluetooth connection. Also, ensure the audio and visuals are always in sync. Plus, calls and music never drop.

Final Thoughts

On the whole, the OPPO Enco Buds2 is a great budget friendly truly wireless earbud for Rs.1,799. The most amazing thing is that it is cheaper than the predecessor, which is quite rare. It come with a sensitive touch area, a loud sound and includes an IP54 water resistance. In addition, you get comfortable volume controls and features massive battery life. The AI noise cancellation effectively reduce the ambient dsound and offer a clear voice calls for long hours.

Which is the best alternative to the OPPO Enco Buds2?

If you want to buy a low-cost earbud, then consider buying the PTron Bassbuds Fute. They come with a 13mm dynamic driver, which ensures natural stereo sound with deep bass. The earbuds design ensured a snug fit and come with a Passive Noise Cancellation features. These gives a crystal-clear voice. Plus, each wireless earphone has a Built-in HD Mic for Stereo Phone Calls. The PTron Bassbuds Fute sport an IPX4 water and sweat resistance. You can take this earbud while raining outside and also during swimming. Furthermore, the earbuds take 1 hours to full charge.

If you doesn’t have a budget issue then you should go with Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. However, it is worth noting that the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is significantly more expensive than previous Galaxy Buds products, which is still worth considering. If noise cancellation isn’t something you really care about, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus still has the best battery life on the market for a pair of true wireless earbuds, and these days it’s easy to find for less than half the price. They have some tough competition, though, and we’ll only find out how they compare when we do our full assessment and pitch them against their nearest rivals.
