There is no doubt that the range indicated by Logitech Zone True Wireless will be slightly shorter than its promised 100 feet. As noted in their product datasheet, the range is based on open field / line of site rating. Offices have barriers such as walls, elevators, windows, people, desks, partitions and more.
All of these things degrade the wireless signal, which in turn, reduces the amount of wireless range. If you use a headset in an environment without interruptions, you will probably notice a range. But given the places we all work in, that is unlikely.
I expect the Zone True Wireless to provide about 50-60 feet (15-18 meters) in a normal work environment. Tested by many other headsets from different manufacturers, they all track about half of the stated range. If this is true with Zone True Wireless, 50-60 feet is approx. We will test the series once we receive our first shipment.
The fact that Logitech responds to the needs and requirements of the market is impressive. Other manufacturers have similar plans in the works, but are waiting to make sure the audio features are well dialed before introducing them. It looks like Logitech is at the forefront of this, and will have an earbud style headset suitable for commercial use. We’ll find out for sure soon, but at this point, it looks that way.
When you go through the USB adapter and high tech microphones all the other nice features can work as well as icing on the cake. Transparency mode, for example, is a great convenience because you don’t have to take off your earbuds to talk to anyone. And, Active Noise Cancellation is unexpected in earbuds, and a helpful feature for you to focus on your work and not be distracted by the sounds around you.
